Oppo Stories

For the Oppo Reno 10 Series launch, we created a documentary-style series of stills centred around people whose lives are deeply connected to knowledge, tradition and their surroundings. From mahouts and their bond with elephants to a woman known as a “walking library” for her wealth of knowledge, the imagery captured stories of people and place through an intimate, observational lens.

Project Description

For the Oppo Reno 10 Series launch, we created a documentary-style series of stills centred around people whose lives are deeply connected to knowledge, tradition and their surroundings. From mahouts and their bond with elephants to a woman known as a “walking library” for her wealth of knowledge, the imagery captured stories of people and place through an intimate, observational lens.

Research

We explored documentary photography and human-interest storytelling to understand how real people and their environments could become the focus of the campaign. The research looked at ways of capturing knowledge, tradition and everyday life without making the imagery feel staged.

Experiment

We experimented with portraits, candid interactions and environmental frames to tell each story visually. With the mahouts, we explored the relationship between people and elephants, while the “walking library” story allowed us to focus more closely on the person, her surroundings and the sense of knowledge she carries.

Refinement

We refined the series around moments that felt honest and personal, allowing each subject’s environment to add context to their story. The final imagery brought together portraits, interactions and wider observational frames to create a cohesive documentary narrative while showcasing the Reno 10 Series’ ability to capture people and their worlds.
